Time for a new challenge!

Time for another challenge over at  Catch the Bug !   We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving in the US it was nice for all of us to step back and be Thankful for!  Thanks to everyone who played along with our Thanksgiving/Give Thanks!  We hope you will consider joining us for this weeks challenge!

I used some great two sided paper I have in my stash which.   I added some offray ribbon then added some red stitched ribbon.  I used stickles on the tree for the the “sparkle” effect!  I used my fake snow for his beard.

Show us your Pockets!

Thanks for stopping by today for Bugaboo’s Pocket challenge!  We want to see your pockets, either on your images or in an actual pock we want to see it.

I hate to admit but never really mastered the “Pocket” card so decided to go with an adorable “pocket” image.   I used some gingham and PTI Poppy Red cardstock and added a charm that I have had forever and thought would work great with this project.

Below is my card which I was inspired to create because of the above picture which is the theme for the challenge this week.  I used paper from my stash added some pearls  and a computer generated sentiment!

Tutorial Time!

Thanks for stopping by today!    I am very excited because I get to show you a tutorial that I made up!   Last year I started seeing these adorable Tea Light Cards and I fell in love with them!  I found several but just did not find any that were quick and easy  which is all I seem to have time for anymore.  So I decided to create my own.  One of my favorite card folds is the Easel card so I decided to make my project using the easel fold, I hope you enjoy!

Supplies needed:

1 Sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock cut into 3 pieces:

1—5 1/2 x 8 1/2

2—4 1/4 x 5 1/2

3 Tea lights

Designer paper

Tape Runner

Die for circles

Step 1:   Take the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card stock and score at

4 1/4 and then at 6 1/4 this is easel base.

Step 2:  Take one of the 2—4 1/4 x 5 1/2 sheets and score it at 1/2. 1 1/4, 3, 3 1/4 this makes the box for the tea lights!

Step 3:  Here is where you use your die to cut your openings for the tea lights. Before you start with that go ahead and cover that piece with your designer paper so that you only have to cut them out once.  Also mark the underside for easy line up

 

Step 4:   Now you are going to glue your box down by lining it up at the edge of your card base.

Step 5:  After you have the first edge taped down I used glue dots to put my lights down then pressed down on the glued areas.

Step 6: Now it is time to decorate your other 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 sheet and attach it to your card base.

Finished Product!

Hello and welcome back to the CDAC  Progressive Challenge.   I am happy to start you off for Challenge (cdacpc6) with  the brand spanking new Challenge as well as brand new images for this round as well!  

This months theme is Winter is coming. We have been given some wonderful images to reflect just that! 

Below is my card using the adorable image by Ellephantastic I got to use this round.   I decided to use a coloring page as the background I then used an oval punch cut out to make a spring to add movement to my card.
